Personal...David Brown just completed his fourth season as an assistant coach at Winston-Salem State University in 2005-06. He came to WSSU after spending five years as a high school varsity assistant coach. His responsibilities with the Rams will include serving as the recruiting coordinator, academic advisor, head scouting coordinator and other related tasks. Coach Brown began his coaching career in 1997 at his high school alma mater Bethel High School in Hampton, VA. After four years at Bethel he moved to Charlotte, NC where he coached one year at Waddle High School. As a player Coach Brown played at Fayetteville State University under former WSSU head coach Rick Duckett. While at FSU the Broncos were the 1995 co-Southern Division champs and 1997 CIAA tournament runner-ups. Brown was a starter two of his three years at Fayetteville and was the team's leading scorer during his senior season. Coach Brown graduated in 1997 with a B.S. in elementary education. Brown and his wife reside in Winston-Salem with their young son David, Jr.
