Lady Rams Winless on Day One of Releaser's Invitational

Feb. 9, 2008

TALLAHASSEE, FL - On one of the most eventful days of the season, the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams took four Baker game losses on the first day of the Releaser's Invitational bowling tournament. The Lady Rams took Baker game losses to Fayetteville State (0-4), Norfolk State (4-3), Florida A&M (4-2), Louisiana Tech (0-4), and South Carolina State (0-4).

Highlighting the day was the Lady Rams' thrilling seven-game match against the Norfolk State Spartans that saw the Lady Rams fall by just two pins in the final set of the match. The team followed the effort with a 4-2 loss to host Florida A&M, but came up winless in matches against Fayetteville State, Louisiana Tech, and South Carolina State.

The Lady Rams had every reason to be distracted as a play was interrupted by a plane crash outside of the bowling alley. The crash caused a power outage that halted play during the Lady Rams' match against South Carolina State.

The Lady Rams will return to team match play on tomorrow morning before wrapping up Baker games play on Sunday.
