The Lady Rams got off to a great start, scoring a pair of first inning runs in the game when WSSU sophomore Ashley Boswell hit an RBI single to center field, driving in freshman outfielder Candace Spinks. Fellow freshman Kayla Woodbury added another score on an RBI single.
WSSU would cross the plate just once more in the fifth inning when junior Whitney Hall hit an RBI-single.
WSSU sophomore Ashley Boswell led the way for the Lady Rams with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Junior Desiree Ramirez and freshman Candace Spinks were both 2-for-3 from the plate. Spinks added a run scored as well.
Boswell took the pitching loss (8-8) starting the game and pitching two innings. She allowed seven hits and three earned runs.
With the loss, the Lady Rams end the 2008 season with a 20-29 record and an 8-17 record in road games. The Lady Rams were 10-10 in home games and 2-2 in neutral site games. Five Lady Rams batted at least .300 for the season, led by freshman catcher Kayla Woodbury's .403 average.
