Personal: Ashley will join the Lady Rams this fall as a true freshman...She is a talented runner with a strong resume with a wealth of high school honors...She is a 2008 graduate of Hopewell High School in Huntersville, NC where she earned four letters in track & field under head coach Lawrence Lawson...She earned numerous high school honors including winning the regional championship in the 300m and 400m hurdles and earning team MVP honors...She was also a three-time team captain...She was also named Best New Runner in the 400m run in high school...She also ran in the 400m hurdles at the AAU regional championships in 2007 and in 2008...Coming from a family of runners, both of her siblings compete at NCAA Division I universities...Her oldest sister, Lauren, is a middle distance runner at MEAC rival South Carolina State while her brother, Denzelle, is a junior at UNC-Charlotte where he is a sprinter...Ashley is the daughter of Lawrence and Gewina Lawson.
